What did I miss that makes Rebellion a competitor on the Toyota/Audi/Porsche scale?

The factory teams are massively unreliable this year. I would put some serious money on neither of the porsches making it to sunrise. I can only see toyota managing to get a clean run with one of their cars and audi having a small chance of doing the same, though I would expect issues for them.

Wow, I really should’ve watched Spa then. This is going to be the most exciting LeMans in years, if they don’t manage to fix the cars/drivers!

Its almost like someone is selecting cars at random and going “Fuck this one in particular”. A few little while ago the second place LMP2 had major brake failure. Just after I posted this the leading Toyota’s engine failed (the others failed about an hour before). Porsche 2 has driven almost the entire race without hybrid. Porsche 1 front gearbox failed after about 2 hours. The floor broke on the 7 Audi. It’s a total shitshow for the major teams.

And then this is just over the spread of 6 hours, if they continue like this, every major team will need something like 5-6 major overhauls during the 24hrs.

The Rebellions are the only LMP1 cars to not have major mechanical issues so far. John Hindhaugh is discussing a possible LMP2 victory at Le Mans.
